It is our pleasure to announce that earlier this year, COBA Plastics Group acquired Extrudaseal Ltd, a Birmingham-based manufacturer specialising in thermoplastic extrusion to create bespoke seals and gaskets.
The sealing-based extrusions are made from PVC, PVC Nitrile, TPU, and TPV. Over the past few months, we have successfully integrated the business into the COBA family, expanding our manufacturing capabilities with the addition of five new extrusion lines to our plant list. Our sales team has also gained two new key account managers from Extrudaseal following the acquisition: Adam Whitehouse and Paul James.
This latest acquisition brings COBA Plastics Group to over 700 employees, with production now running on 75 extrusion and 50 injection moulding machines.
The key strengths that made Extrudaseal an ideal fit for COBA are threefold:
• They are UK-based
• Operate outside the automotive sector
• Manufacture a range of foamed profiles, offering new opportunities for future innovation.
The integration of Extrudaseal supports COBA’s long-term strategy to diversify beyond the automotive sector, while creating opportunities for collaboration across product development, tooling design, IFS integration, marketing, finance, purchasing, and logistics.
Although COBA has been producing window gaskets and accessories for over a decade in South Africa, this acquisition enhances our ability to share technologies and product ideas across the group, ultimately benefiting both our markets and our customers.
It’s yet another exciting milestone for COBA, and a strong signal of our continued commitment to UK manufacturing and sustainable growth.
