ESG Stated Aim

At COBA Plastics Group, we believe in the power of responsible innovation. Our aim is to integrate sustainable practices into our business wherever possible, ensuring we minimise our environmental footprint, support the well-being of our employees and communities, and govern with integrity. By embedding ESG principles in our approach, we strive to carry out our role in manufacturing responsibly, delivering high-quality products, of an increasingly green specification, that contribute to a circular economy.

ESG Goals

Given our role in manufacturing and production, we have identified three core ESG goals:

As a plastics manufacturer, we acknowledge our responsibility to both the environment and society. Our sustainability activities align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), guiding our efforts in resource efficiency, waste reduction, and responsible production.

Sustainable Development Goals Accomplishments

We are proud to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through a series of initiatives that promote well-being, equality, innovation, and environmental responsibility. Each action we take, from investing in our people to protecting our planet, contributes to a more sustainable and resilient future for all.

Fighting Hunger, Strengthening Community

Great Britain
Through our support of local foodbanks, we help provide access to nutritious food for individuals and families in need, easing the pressures of poverty and reducing inequality within our community. Beyond meeting immediate needs, these contributions foster dignity, hope, and resilience, showing the power of collective action. Each donation, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference, reminding us that ending hunger is a goal we can only achieve together.

WELL-BEING AND EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

Slovakia

At our company, we care about the health and well-being of our employees. We provide massages during working hours, free access to a fitness centre, and often organize sports team-building activities, including running in half-marathons, group hiking trips, and cycling. These activities help us relax, stay active, and strengthen connections, creating a healthier and more enjoyable workplace.

Supporting Minds, Strengthening Workplaces

Great Britain
We are proud to have recognised Mental Health First Aiders across our group, ensuring colleagues have someone to turn to for confidential, supportive guidance. This initiative reduces stigma, promotes inclusion, and reinforces our commitment to a healthy workplace culture. By embedding mental health support into our organisation, we’re helping to create a more compassionate and resilient workforce and contributing to a future where mental health is valued equally with physical health, supporting stronger, healthier communities.

Investing in Health, Equality, and a Thriving Workplace

Great Britain
Our onsite gym gives every employee access to high-quality fitness facilities for a one-time £10 sign-on fee, with free use thereafter. This encourages regular exercise, supports mental well-being, and promotes fairness by removing barriers to fitness. By investing in health and inclusion, we’re creating a workplace where people thrive and demonstrating that prioritising well-being benefits both individuals and the wider community.

PARTNERSHIP WITH HIGH SCHOOLS AND UNIVERSITIES

Slovakia
Our company actively supports student education through internships in various departments, including HR, Quality, IT, Sales, Production, and Maintenance. Our interns also have the opportunity to prepare their final theses at universities in collaboration with our experts, linking theoretical knowledge from school with practical experience in the workplace. GENDER EQUALITY IN OUR WORKPLACE

Slovakia

At our company, we emphasize equal opportunities for all employees. Our top management team has an equal number of women and men, and the same balance is reflected among all our employee representatives. Interestingly, even though we are a manufacturing company, we employ more women than men – approximately 130 women and 110 men, demonstrating that the workplace can be inclusive and fair for everyone.

Powering Net Zero with 100% Green Energy

Great Britain

Our switch to Brook Green as our new energy supplier allows us to use 100% REGO-backed green electricity and carbon-neutral gas, enabling our manufacturing site to report zero market-based Scope 2 emissions. This shift reduces our operational carbon footprint, supports net zero goals, and enhances transparency in sustainability reporting. By making this change, we’re helping lead the transition toward a cleaner energy future, showing how responsible choices can power meaningful change.

Great Britain

In 2022, we installed a solar PV system  To this date, we’ve generated over 1 million kWh of clean energy. According to the Carbon Trust’s calculations, that’s equivalent to cutting over 200,000 kg of CO₂e (The same impact as planting more than 7,000 trees).

Closing the Loop with Post-Consumer Waste

Great Britain

We are proud to incorporate Post-Consumer Waste (PCW) materials, such as recycled polypropylene PP76, into our manufacturing processes. This approach diverts material from landfills, reduces reliance on virgin resins, and supports the circular economy. By responding to growing OEM requirements for recycled content, particularly in the automotive sector, we’re helping our partners achieve their sustainability goals while reducing carbon emissions. Every metre of extrusion with recycled content represents progress toward a more circular, resource-efficient manufacturing future, where innovation and environmental stewardship go hand in hand.

EVERYDAY STEPS TOWARD SUSTAINABILITY AT WORK

At our company, we actively encourage employees to take responsibility for natural resources. Through notices in production areas, kitchens, on computer screens, and posters on walls, we regularly remind employees how to save energy and water, ventilate properly, use air conditioning and heating efficiently, sort waste, and follow other environmentally friendly practices. In doing so, we promote sustainable everyday habits and foster
an environmentally responsible workplace.
