Finance Apprentice (Level 2)

Operational Finance Support

• Assist with day-to-day financial transactions and accurate data entry
• Support purchase ledger and sales ledger processes, including invoice processing and query resolution
• Assist with credit control activities, including payment allocation
• Carry out basic reconciliations under supervision
• Support month-end financial processes
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records

Reporting and Compliance

• Assist with preparation of financial reports and data
• Support year-end processes and audit preparation
• Assist with VAT and regulatory tasks (under supervision)
• Ensure compliance with internal finance procedures

Systems and Administration

• Use finance systems to input and maintain data
• Maintain organised financial documentation
• Liaise with internal departments to resolve queries
• Communicate professionally with stakeholders

Apprenticeship Requirements

• Study towards an AAT Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification
• Attend training sessions and complete coursework and assessments
• Maintain an apprenticeship portfolio
• Apply learning to practical workplace tasks

Essential

• GCSE Maths and English (Grade 5/C or above)
• Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Willingness to learn and complete an apprenticeship
• Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
• Professional attitude with integrity and confidentiality

Desirable

• A-levels (or equivalent), particularly in Maths, Business or Finance
• Previous office or administrative experience
• Interest in pursuing a long-term finance or accounting career
