About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Internal Sales (Customer Services) team as a Business Administration Apprentice.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop core business administration skills while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced commercial environment. You will support the effective processing of customer orders, maintain accurate records, and communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.

You will primarily work within Internal Sales (Customer Services), whilst also gaining exposure to the External Sales team, helping you build a broad understanding of how a sales function operates.

Alongside your role, you will work towards the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship, combining structured workplace learning with formal training.

 

Key Responsibilities

Internal Sales / Customer Services

  • Support the day-to-day administration of customer orders and schedules
  • Assist with processing and amending customer orders in line with company procedures
  • Prepare order acknowledgements, pro-formas, and related documentation
  • Maintain accurate customer and order records within internal systems
  • Support communication with customers regarding orders and general enquiries

Shadowing and Development

  • Shadow Customer Service Administrators to learn core processes
  • Develop understanding of order processing, customer communication, and issue resolution
  • Gain insight into how customer issues and complaints are managed

External Sales Exposure

  • Provide administrative support to the External Sales team where required
  • Gain an understanding of how Internal and External Sales collaborate
  • Support telephone handling and message management

Administration and Systems

  • Create and maintain accurate files and documentation
  • Produce routine correspondence and reports
  • Use IT systems (e.g. Microsoft Office) to record and present information
  • Support continuous improvement of processes where possible

 

Personal Specification
  • GCSE grade 9–4 (A–C) or equivalent in English and Mathematics
  • Positive and professional attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to organise workload and manage time effectively
  • Comfortable working as part of a team
  • Basic IT skills and confidence using digital systems

 

Hours of Work

Monday to Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00

Friday: 08:30 – 16:00

39 hours per week (including a 30-minute lunch break)
